Nubian Nights: From the heart of Nubia to the heart of Downtown Cairo
Our Nubian Nights events have always been welcoming and delightful! And last week it was more memorable than ever before. Powered & organized by our partner Nubiavest, the event cordially hosted a range of high-profile guests, whom we are incredibly grateful for their presence.
We were honored to host H.E. Ambassador Han-Maurits Schaapveld from the Embassy of the Netherlands in Egypt; H.E. Ambassador Dr. Mohamed Al-Orabi, Former Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs; Mr. Hermann Thiel, Chief of Party of the Economic Governance Activity; and Kenny Tan, Deputy Chief of Mission at Singapore Embassy in Cairo.
We were also delighted by the presence of the ecosystem star and expert Adly Wagih Thoma, MSc, MPM, PMP Chairman & CEO at Gemini Africa and Founder & I.P. owner of CinemaTech Programs; Ms. Ajwad Kordy, 1st Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Saudi Arabia; and Dr. Dalia Fikry, Representative from the General Investment Authority.
“The world pushes us to globalization, and we believe that adhering to culture and identity adds to the human difference, diversity, and the real strength of people,” says Ghada Raslan, Co-founder of NubiaVest, who inaugurated the event, along with the NubiaVest Chairman Amir Marghany.
From the heart of Nubia, the event housed mesmerizing talents with enchanting voices and music. That was beside an exhibition by Nubian female entrepreneurs who showcased their handmade creations and artworks.
In addition, six inspiring entrepreneurs from the NubiaVest Incubator and the Startup Haus Cairo community took over the stage and gave rounds of elevator pitches:
Mohamed Shaheen, founder of Tonjel music – تونجل ميوزيك Art Incubator and the man behind the beautiful bands of Nubian Nights
Omnia Gomaa, co-founder of the Nubian community initiative Waikndi – وايكندي
Ragy Ramadan, REP®, CEO & co-founder of the first African Egypt-based clean energy startup NoorNation
Mustafa Mohamed, co-founder of the edu-tech platform BESTLANCER
Islam Abd El-aziz & Rifan Farhan, co-founders of the e-commerce platform Ecovl
As always, our space has been home to diversity and inclusion. With Nubian Nights, this notion has become more eminent, with a versatile audience of awesome people coming from many spots around the world. Together we enjoyed witnessing the revival of Nubian heritage and its meeting with a promising economy brought by successful business leaders in Egypt.
From our hearts at Startup Haus Cairo, we are incredibly thankful to Team NubiaVest Essraa Moustafa and Ramzy Helal and to the entrepreneurs and artists who joined and made this event possible for the third time in a row.
